Macaw Lodge is a small hotel\u00a0is built in harmony with the environment. Though this lodge is nestled in a remote area, it is close to both\u00a0Carara National Park (several hiking trails and good wildlife viewing) and the Pacific coastline (perfect for enjoying surfing, swimming or kayaking). This is a rural lodge that is set\u00a0within the Central Pacific region of Costa Rica in\u00a0Cerros de Turrubares (set in the countryside near Costa Rica\u2019s central Pacific coast).<\/p>\n

Sustainability:<\/h3>\n

The Macaw Lodge is trying hard to develop the awareness of sustainable living. In the property all the buildings are constructed with\u00a0timber from the hotel\u2019s own tree plantations. Solar energy is used for producing the water saving systems and the electricity for the lodge. Water supply is conserved via dual-flow toilets and low-flow shower-heads; the water, in fact, comes from the farm\u2019s very own springs\u00a0which are treated properly and in harmony with the environment, and no chemicals are added to the water. Bamboo was\u00a0extracted from the lodge\u2019s own plantations for the lodge construction and most of the floors and bathrooms were\u00a0made from locally extracted stone that was worked on and polished.<\/p>\n

\"Macaw<\/a>There are 4 cabins and 8 rooms in the Macaw lodge<\/a> and these can accommodate up to 28 guests comfortably. All the rooms are\u00a0constructed with beautiful wooden walls, large windows and high ceilings and surrounded by beautiful nature. All the rooms include\u00a0 two full beds with therapeutic mattresses and sheets made from bamboo fibers, ceiling fans and also has private bathrooms that are\u00a0built from marble extracted and processed locally, solar heated water, towels. You will also enjoy\u00a0the breeze that enter in the room through the large screened windows. Cabins are ideal for the people who want more space and independence. Cabins include\u00a0one\u00a0queen-size bed and two single beds. You will also find a kitchen with all the equipment you might need to cook your favorite dish personally. For spending relaxing time you can\u00a0sit on the rocking chairs in the covered balcony. Breakfast is also included and other meals are optional. You will enjoy the delicious food that are locally sources, filling, and tasty. You will enjoy delicious food as well as a marvelous view of the botanical gardens from the outdoor space of the lodge restaurant.<\/p>\n

While staying at the Macaw Lodge, you will get plenty of opportunity and option to enjoy a variety of activities such as visiting the hotel\u2019s botanical gardens, which include an impressive collection of heliconias, vines, palm trees and aquatic species. You can also go for a tour to the hotel\u2019s cacao, coffee, and mangosteen plantations. There is a outdoor studio where you can enjoy practicing yoga as well as the amazing surrounding area. If you are a nature lover, you can go for a walk through the primary forest to a waterfall.<\/p>\n
