Because of its up-gradation of natural, social and cultural resource management, Golfo Dulce eco-lodge took position among top 10 Costa Rican Hotels in recent years by the German Travel Guide Book Polyglott.\u00a0This eco lodge also has\u00a0earned 4 out of 5 \u201cleaves\u201d for Sustainable Tourism in terms of rainforest conservation, sustainable practices and social engagement by The Costa Rican Tourism Institute (Certification for Sustainable Tourism \u2013 CST).\u00a0<\/span>Surrounded by the clear waters of Golfo Dulce, the primary rainforest of the Piedras Blancas National Park, an extension of the Corcovado National Park, this remote eco lodge is an amazing place to visit for the people who want to escape away from the civilized world and to be connected to the nature.<\/p>\n

Way to the lodge:<\/h3>\n

If you want to go by air you can use one of the two\u00a0domestic airlines SANSA or Nature Air that fly from San Jose to\u00a0<\/span>Golfito\u00a0or to Puerto Jimenez and it will take 45-50 minutes to an hour. After reaching Golfito or Puerto Jimenez you will find cab available. By using cab you can reach the restaurant Samoa del Sur for the boat transfer, which is along the scenic coastline to the lodge site on Playa San Josecito. And if you go to the Puerto Jimenez, from the\u00a0docks at the public harbor you can hire a boat directly to Golfo Dulce Lodge.\u00a0<\/span>It takes about 30 minutes of boat ride either from Golfito or Puerto Jimenez to the lodge. If you drive private vehicle, it will take 7 hours from San Jose to Golfito. As the Golfo Dulce Lodge is nestled in a remote location and accessible only by a boat ride, you will have to head to Samoa del Sur restaurant where you will get the lodge boat but only on a pre-set time schedule.You can also use public bus transport departs from\u00a0<\/span>San Jose\u00a0to Golfito<\/span>\u00a0and the journey duration will be 4 to 7 hours.<\/p>\n

Accommodation:<\/h3>\n

\"Golfo-Dulce-Lodge\"<\/a>Golfo Dulce Eco Lodge offers two categories accommodation-Deluxe and Standard. Deluxe category include bungalows which are constructed from wooden pieces well-furnished containing all the necessary amenities for daily needs such as warm water, shower, toilet. There is a large private veranda with rocking chair and hammock.\u00a0From the resting area of the veranda guests can enjoy the jungle view or the small freshwater pool view.\u00a0<\/span>The standard ones comprise of the same but lesser in space.\u00a0For the\u00a0immediate guests or customers who walk in after a swaying boat ride, there are restrooms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Restaurant:<\/h3>\n

The restaurant of the lodge are decorated beautifully with bamboo rods for covering the ceiling. Delicious meals prepared from natural ingredients are served \u00a0by the restaurant.<\/p>\n

Tours:<\/h3>\n

Golfo Dulce Eco Lodge offers various hikes passing by different eco-system. You can also enjoy boat tours to the mangroves of the Esquinas River, kayaking and many other activities. The surrounding area of the lodge is mainly conserved for unique species of animals, birds and plants. 340 species of birds, within the premises of the lodge, has been explored by the bird specialists.<\/p>\n
