Monteverde Cloud Forest Lodge

The Cloud Forest Lodge is a peaceful, quiet sanctuary in Monteverde, nestled on about 70 acres of primary and secondary forest. Several natural reserves are close to the lodge that are home to several species of wild animals and birds. If you go for a nature walk you might spot bare-necked umbrellabirds, three-toed sloths, howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys and many other animals. This area is also perfect for bird watchers as there are some 180 species of birds. If you want to spend some time in tranquility, here it is.

In this Cloud Forest Lodge, you will find bungalow-style rooms that offers homely like environment and featured with private bath, amenities, hot water. This clean and comfortable rooms also have  a patio where you can that offers the amazing garden and forest view. All the rooms are painted with  bright, earthy colors and decorated with wood panel covered ceiling and wall and tile floors that keep the room clean and cool. These rooms are equipped with  single or double beds, and a private terrace from where you can enjoy the real mountain-hotel view. Though the rooms are simple but comfortable enough. In this lodge there are also handicap rooms that featured with bathrooms and ramps.

Restaurant and Bar:

Monteverde Cloud Forest Lodge has a restaurant that offers delicious and carefully prepared Costa Rican-style meals including beef, chicken, fish, soups, salads, deserts and more. You can enjoy these delicious menus from breakfast till dinner. The restaurant also offers special homemade granola and bread. There is a bar with a variety of national and foreign drinks and cocktail. While enjoying your favorite drink you can also enjoy amazing views of the nearby forest and in the distance, the Gulf of Nicoya. Next to the restaurant, there you will find a reading area surrounded by in the distance, the Gulf of Nicoya. You can sit there with your book, computer or family member and get cozy and  lounge-away the afternoon.

Activities:

The Original Canopy Tour

While staying at the lodge, you can get opportunity to enjoy the Original Canopy Tour with a short, guided hike through the private 70-acre reserve. You will also enjoy exploring the beauty of the rainforest. This tour starts at 7:30 am, 10:30 am and 2:30 pm and lasts between 2 and 2.5 hours.

Trails:

You can find more than 180 species of birds in the lodge’s 30 hectares (about 75 acres) of forest 5 kms of private trails and while staying here you can also go for a trip to the butterfly and orchid gardens or the Monteverde Cheese Factory where you can also learn about the region’s cultural history and try a sampling of local cheeses and ice cream. If you go for a morning walk or night walk you can discover beautiful sights experience, true magic of nature.
