From enjoying the organic foods cultivated on their farm to absorbing the untainted jungle energy by practicing yoga on the bamboo platform, guests can savor a whole range of natural experiences. The eco lodge is an organic farm cum retreat cum a significant portion of the lush Saimiri biological refuge. Built in 2001, the eco retreat has planted more than a thousand trees in the region along with several other community and conservation based initiatives for helping tourists enjoy the pristine appeal of Osa without damaging its rich biodiversity. Housed a stone’s throw away from the Cocovado National Park on the Carate Beach, Finca Exotica spells wholesome back-to-nature goodness, while retaining the comfort and convenience of chic vacation retreat.

Activities and Amenities

Finca Exotica offers its guests a rich assortment of nature, adventure and relaxation activities on a platter. Nature enthusiasts can do everything from going on a self-guided walk through the lush confines of the rainforest to early morning bird watching to volunteering for the resort’s sustainable environment activities. Hiking through the popular Corcovado or other primary rainforest areas (adorned by waterfalls, strategic ocean views, serene rivers and secluded beaches) surrounding Finca Exotica is also a much sought after pursuit with visitors. Adventure buffs can have a field day by swimming, fishing and boogie boarding on the beach or surfing on the perfect waves of Matapalo’s waters. If activity isn’t a buzzword with you, you can simply relax on a hammock or place a mat on the beach to enjoy this communion with nature. The resort organizes horseback riding, kayaking, waterfall ridge half day nature hike trips.

In addition to this, Finca Exotica organizes a series of yoga classes and rejuvenating therapy massages. There is an in-house library, which stocks a good collection of books on varied nature-based subjects. Guests can also enjoy pool, board games, volleyball, badminton and Frisbee within the premises of the eco-resort. Music aficionados can indulge their creative side, while playing some fun tunes on the mariamba, drums and shakers. Finca Exotica, true to the exotica in its name also puts together unusual art workshops, which acquaint guests with a variety of skills such as pottery, body painting, bamboo building, wooden toy carving and sketching.

Other amenities at the property include an elevated bamboo yoga/ tai chi platform, (which can hold about 24 people) a meditation deck, a rancho (for enjoying scenic views while dining in the backdrop of the Osa sunset) and an outdoor lounge (for a charming sprinkling of food, music, bonfire and conversations).

Accommodation

Accommodation at the Finca Exotica is available in the form of uniquely handcrafted tarzan-type Cabinas, functional elegance sporting jungle Tiki Tents and a spacious two-story cabin rancho that is fully equipped a kitchen, solar fridge, an outdoor bathroom (with a hot tub relaxation dipping pool facility). The Rancho cabin is ideal for a family or honeymooners. Jungle Tiki Tents are stocked with a queen or a couple of twin beds and are spread across Finca’s verdant garden. Most tents feature a private outdoor shower, while others have access to a comfortably equipped communal bathhouse. Cabinas are ideal for groups of up to 6 persons and feature queen and/or single beds, fresh flowers, candle light, basic mosquito nets, a private toilet and an outdoor shower area.

Rates

The high season rates for 2 people for a stay at the Cabinas and Tiki Tents are $ 125 USD/ per person per night and $ 80 USD/ per person per night respectively. Prices include 3 meals, fresh juices, unlimited fresh fruits from the garden and taxes.
