Activities and Amenities

Samasati Nature Retreat offers a huge selection of nature/adventure based tours for visitors. A quick shuttle around the lodge can instantly transport them to a world of exciting activities. The ecologically rich South Caribbean region offers innumerable opportunities for exploring beautiful beaches and verdant national parks in the form of canopy tours, surfing sessions, trail hikes and bird-watching trips. A tour of the popular Cacao trail park and Cahuita National Park is also on the ‘to do’ list of most guests. The nature retreat also puts together bio reserve tours, shaman tours, sea exploration tours, horseback riding tours, sea/river kayaking sessions, white water rafting, bird watching tours and waterfall trek tours. There are some special activity specific packages such as the bird watching packages, the indigenous culture package (where guests get to savor an authentic Costa Rican experience by hobnobbing with the indigenous Cabecar, Bribri and Kekoldi communities and learning about local traditions), the romantic honeymoon packages and the tropical adventure package.

In house facilities at Samasati Nature Retreat include massages ( $ 75 per hour), Ayurveda consultation ($ 90 per hour) and treatment ($90-$125 per hour), yoga sessions at the tastefully appointed yoga center (two elegantly designed buildings encircled by lush gardens and the surrounding wilderness), which is equipped with a quality sound facility and dozens of yoga props (mats, cushions, straps and back bend benches). Other amenities include an oceanic view offering hot tub and bountiful tropical gardens.

Accommodation

Accommodation at the Samasati Nature Retreat comprises nine spacious, comfortable and well furnished Caribbean style bungalows, which are nestled within a breathtaking tropical garden landscape. Constructed from exquisitely polished expensive wood, each bungalow features a private bathroom (with hot water) and an expansive veranda (offering vistas of the surrounding ocean and jungle). Some rooms have a loft and can be converted into a suite with the upstairs area acting as the bedroom and a living room below to accommodate a group of 3-4 guests.

The Monkey Lodge features five double rooms, with each one offering two single beds, a veranda equipped with hammocks and two bathrooms. Caribbean Bungalows feature private bathrooms (with hot water) and a large veranda in the backdrop of splendid coastal and forest vistas. The Namaste Lodge (constructed between a couple of Javillo trees) has three bedrooms along with a queen/king size bed, a bathroom and a couple of large verandas offering sweeping views of the adjoining sea.

The bird watching tour, priced at $995, $715 and $565 USD per person for single, double and triple occupancy respectively, includes five days accommodation along with meals, taxes and a couple of bird watching tours with an expert local guide. Each tour spans approximately 5 hours.
