Encanta-La-Vida

Located in the tropical rainforest of Southern Costa Rica, Encanta la Vida is an unique jungle lodge. If you stay at the beach front lodge Cabo Matapalo, you will get the opportunity to witness one of the few untouched pristine regions in the country and you will also enjoy sounds of the jungle, sunbathe on breathtaking beaches and watching the amazing wildlife all in one place.

Osa Peninsula is rich in diversity and the highest density of wildlife in all of Costa Rica. It is home to an incredible variety and abundance of animals and different species of birds for example macaws, toucans, monkeys, aguti etc. Birdwatchers will find the place a paradise as they will be able to watch different birds just right from their cabin patio.

Way to the lodge:

From San Jose to Puerto Jimenez, closest town to the lodge, it takes 7 to 9 hour drive or a 45 minute flight. After reaching Puerto Jimenez, the lodge agent Isabel can arrange for a taxi to pick you up at the airport for the 40 minute transfer to the lodge. If you want to reach the lodge quickly, the better option is by air and among the several airlines Sansa Airlines is recommended by the lodge. If you prefer to drive you will have to use own vehicle to the lodge and you will need 4 wheel drive with the ability to cross the rivers.

Accommodation:

deluxe1Five different accommodations with a total of nine rooms offered by Encanta la Vida Rainforest Lodge and all the rooms are unique. 

The Casona:

Located near the dining area and pool, the Casona is decorated with local art and indigenous artifacts, and constructed of exotic woods, mosaic tile detail. From the Casona large veranda equipped with rocking chairs and hammocks, you can watch toucans and monkeys.

The Pole House:

Many people often relate this Pole House to the Swiss Family Robinson House or a tree house. This is a rustic three-story structure made of exotic hardwoods and provides comfortable outdoor living space. This exotic house is surrounded by tropical garden which will help you to enjoy the nature closely. There are three pole houses among which the first one is on the first floor with a large deck, two queen beds for 1-4 people, ans a bungalow style shower which is ideal for families, friends or couples. The second pole maintain more privacy and has one queen bed and a large deck. The third one is on the third floor and has one queen and one single bed. From this floor you can enjoy the canopy and garden with a birds-eye view.

Ranchito Cabana:

Made from local exotic hardwoods, the Ranchito Cabana is attached roof structure. It includes a private deck and rocking chairs. This is a private cabina that offers comfortable breezy accommodations with one queen bed, private bathroom with hot water and private patio. 

Deluxe Cabins:

Deluxe cabins is surrounded by gardens, offers privacy and it is tucked into the forest. This is most spacious and newest cabins in this lodge. Each suite of this cabins has a private entrance and large private patios and can also accessed by their own private driveway. You can easily stay at these rooms with your family. On the ground level there are the Deluxe 1 which is equipped with queen size beds, private bathroom with hot water, two large patios-one in the front and the another one is in the back. This is constructed of cement with a Spanish flare and is fully tiled. On the second floor you will find the Deluxe 2 which is equipped with queen beds, two large patios- one in the front and one in the back and the private bathroom with hot water. This is constructed with wooden floors and walls with a vaulted ceiling.

Honeymoon Cabina:

For the honeymoon couple, this luxurious mini villa is designed with privacy and comfort. Surrounded by tropical gardens, it’s about 700 sq ft with rear and front decks with hammocks and chairs. This cabina is equipped with one queen bed and one single bed and a beautiful large tiled bathroom with hot water.

Activities:

A variety of guided tours, activities and recreational equipment are offered by Encanta la Vida Rainforest Lodge. These activities include surfing, dolphin watching, zip lining, hiking, horseback riding, sport fishing and many more. You can also experience Yoga in a peaceful tropical rain forest or on the lodge ocean view Yoga deck. After enjoying the day activities you can get relaxed by taking Spa treatments.
