The southern Nicoya Peninsula is a laid-back strip of Pacific coast taking in Montezuma, Santa Teresa, Mal País, Cabuya and Tambor, with Costa Rica’s first protected reserve, Cabo Blanco, at its tip. Expect jungle-backed beaches, waterfalls, surf breaks and a strong yoga scene. Most visitors arrive by the Puntarenas ferry or a short flight to Tambor.
