Facilities: Accommodation and Restaurant: In Trogon Lodge, there are 10 rustic and very comfortable cabins surrounded by lush gardens. All the rooms are full of comfortable amenities. From each of the cabins you will enjoy an amazing view of the Savegre River or the dazzling forest. These cabins are featured with private baths with hot water facilities. For all of the lodge’s guests comfort, all feature a heating unit specially necessary on the chilly environment of the area. At the balcony from the main restaurant or gazebo, you can spend some time to get relaxed. If you wish you can also sit in the middle of the beautiful garden and enjoy the flora of the area including ferns, several species of orchids, centennial oak trees, bromeliads and the opportunity of getting close to nature in this virgin area. There is a restaurant ‘El Quetzal’ where you can enjoy delicious homemade and family style dishes. You will find a trout pond in front of the restaurant where you can enjoy fishing and can have the chef prepare it. Activities: The entrance is located at 2 km from the lodge from where all the adventure and fun begins. You can enjoy a variety of daily tours available at an extra cost. You can go for a walk in search for birds, specially Resplendent Quetzals at the time of 6:00 to 8:00 am and you can take help from a resident guide. If it is your lucky day, you might find out some beautiful bird. If you are a adventure lover, you can also select one of the 3 different nature trails that all are different in length and difficulty. Trail #1 and #2 head east, being #1 the longest. Trail #2 heads west and finishes in the San Gerardo de Dota road. If you want to explore the beauty of the surrounding area, you can go for a ride along the beautiful Valley of San Gerardo de Dota or can go for a walk through the Forest that will lead you to an impressive waterfall.
