Tamandua Biological Station

Situated in La Bijagua, Drake Bay, in the Puntarenas Province of Costa Rica, Tamandua Biological Station is surrounded by verdurous greenery and bubbling streams. Located in La Bijagua, Drake Bay, Tamandua Biological Station has two great attractions: Corcovado National Park and Golfo Dulce Forestal Reserve. The Corcovado National Park, considered as the crown jewel of Costa Rica’s national park system, is located in Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula. It is one of the most remote and extremely bio-diverse environmental reserves in Coast Rica. On the other hand, Golfo Dulce Forestal Reserve is made up of a tropical rain forest and protects all timber -wood species in the geographic zone that surrounds the Golfo Dulce in the southern zone of Costa Rica.

This new 100% Costa Rican project is part of the Arguijos family property. This family has been protecting this area for the last 40 years. One of the most interesting thing about the project is that it has the same biodiversity of the Corcovado Park. The project has an extension of 50 hectares with different waterfalls. You can access the place by car during the dry season.

Cano Island is only 12 nautical miles from Aguila de Osa and this is just a paradise for the scuba divers, swimmers, snorkelers and sunbathers alike. You can visit San Pedrillo and Sirena Ranger Stations in Corcovado National Park and can enjoy a wonderful dolphin and whale watching tour. Tamandua is an ideal place for enjoying full day and half day sport fishing ventures, bird watching trips, horseback riding expeditions and many more activities.

Tamandua Biological Station provides various facilities for the guests. Here guest are allowed to prepare their own meals if they want and also has the permission to enjoy access to all the forest trails of the Tamandua Biological Station. In the lodge guest will enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner prepared with fresh products. Foods are really in very reasonable rates  and fresh and healthy. Recommendation:

It is recommended to wear hiking shoes and to bring a flash light and to avoid throwing garbage in the water and trails.
