Playa Nicuesa can only be accessed by a boat, thus lending it an exotic and adventurous cast-away feel amidst dramatic mountain vistas and the striking Pacific Coast. From savoring the relaxed charm of the surrounding rainforests on a hammock to enriching their spirit with a bracing yoga session, guests have plenty to do at this back-to-nature luxury offering retreat.

Amenities and Activities

When you have a front yard that is almost a gulf off the ocean and a backyard that nestles acres of unspoiled tropical rainforest, the result is a plethora of nature and adventure activities. Guests can indulge in a variety of recreational pursuits including swimming, thrilling day kayaking, deep sea snorkeling, off-shore and in-shore fishing, exploring the coastline and adjoining mangroves, hiking along the labyrinth trails of the rainforest and simply enjoying the ocean/mountain views from a strategic point. There are other customized family-friendly tours and yoga/wellness packages. The lodge features a unique rotational Resident Yoga Instructor and Massage Therapist Program, where they host different highly qualified yoga instructors and massage therapists each month to put up at the lodge and offer daily yoga classes ($ 15 USD for group sessions and $ 30 for individual sessions) and massage therapy sessions (charged at $ 75 USD per massage hour) to guests. Playa Nicuesa also organizes a large number of year-round retreats and workshops.

Visitors can also savor a scrumptious tropical-Latino style menu at the in-house family restaurant or enjoy a sundown cocktail at the thatch roofed candle-lit bar.

Accommodation

Accommodation at the Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge comprises a 2 storey Mango Guest House with 4 private rooms, the single bedroom cabins, the Cabin Suites, the Two Bedroom Cabins and the Jaguar House. The private rooms at the Mango Guest House each feature a private entrance, elegant hardwood floors, an independent bathroom and a private terrace offering panoramic views of the surroundings. This option is perfect for families and friends who want to live close yet enjoy the privacy of their own rooms.

One bedroom cabins are designed to provide a simple yet rustic jungle chic element by featuring a private entrance, neat hardwood floors, independent open air shower-bathrooms and a private terrace. Cabin Suites are more private and separately set from other accommodations. The Jaguar House is a 2 storey, 3 bedroom house surrounded by the lush forest.

Rates

The high season rates for single occupancy at the Mango Guest House rooms and Private One Bedroom Cabins are $ 230 USD and $ 270 USD respectively. Similarly high season double occupancy is charged at $ 195 USD, $ 220 USD, $ 330 USD and $ 400 USD for the Mango Guest House, Private One Bedroom Cabin, Cabin Suite and Jaguar House respectively. All rates are per person and include the stipulated number of nights stay along with a boat pick up and drop from the town of arrival/departure point, three meals, unlimited self guided tours on the preserve property, usage of kayaks, snorkeling and fishing equipment. Guided specialty tours and other adventure activities can be booked for an additional fee.

Visitors can also book the entire Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge at special rates for corporate group programs or family get-togethers. This option includes services of a dedicated nature guide, chef, boat captain and housekeeping staff for the entire stay along with unlimited usage of preserve trails, kayaks, snorkeling and fishing equipment.
