It’s rich in diversity which makes the place perfect for those who love to enjoy adventure activities such as hiking to volcanoes and Lankester gardens, zip lining, river rafting and many more. To reach the lodge, it takes about 2 hours drive from San Jose Airport and half an hour from the bustling town of Turrialba. While staying at the Guayabo Lodge if you join the class at the Tropical Cooking School or participate in hands on activities in Community Projects and Schools in Costa Rica, you can also get the opportunity to learn more about the local culture and food. Accommodation: There are 22 standard rooms at Guayabo eco lodge and all the rooms are well decorated along with all daily necessary amenities, a private bathroom and a balcony through which you will be able to enjoy the panoramic views of the Turrialba Volcano or the Turrialba Valley. Each rooms are decorated such a way that while staying there you will feel close to the nature. Standard rooms are equipped with twin, full or queen size beds, table and chairs, beautiful private bathrooms with hair dryer, ecological soap, shampoo, shower and hot water generated by solar panels. There are some executive rooms which called Mountain Suites and through its particular window you will be able to enjoy mountainous scenic views. These mountain suites are equipped with two full or one queen size beds, according to type of the suite. It also include TV, wireless internet access, table and chair, kitchenette with coffee maker, microwave and fridge, beautiful private bathrooms with ecological soap and shampoo, hair dryer, shower and hot water generated by solar panels. Way to the lodge: If you start from San Jose you will have to follow the road to Cartago-Volcan Irazu, just right next to the crossing sight the big statue of Christ. Then you will have to keep driving on the right and follow Pacayas, Capellades, Santa Cruz and Turrialba. Then just go straight without taking any turns and after passing few miles from Santa Cruz Center take a right where you will find a cemetery. This unpaved dirt road will lead you to your destination the Guayabo lodge. Restaurant: The La Granadilla Restaurant runs throughout the day. It offers typical Costa Rican dishes in its Tropical Fusion Kitchen. There’s you will also find combination of meals at the beginning of each day titled as Menu of the Day.
