Finca Verde Lodge

Located in the northern rainforest of Costa Rica, set on an organic farm, Finca Verde Lodge is a family operated Eco-tourism project. Nestled in a small town of Northern town called Bijagua de Upala, this lodge will allow you to experience the tranquility and wilderness of rainforest, explore the rural part of Costa Rica and also enjoy sustainable living. Jimenez Salazar, the owner and manager of the organic farm, has been running the farm for more than a decade. It is working hard for creating a sustainable and viable approach to organic farming. It is maintaining a diverse and productive biological system and created a heaven of birds and animals. In this lodge, there is a butterfly garden and laboratory were they reproduce rare butterflies and frogs and release them back into their natural habitats. It promotes nature in its natural and most healthy form. In the farm you will find sloths, lizards, hummingbirds, toucans, different types of snakes, mammals, insects, butterflies and also include different kinds of tropical plants, fruits and herbs. Nestled into the valley of two volcanoes in the rainforest, Finca Verde Lodge is a tropical farm and nature resort. If you want to lose yourself in the Eco-paradise then this lodge is the perfect place for you.

Accommodation:

Finca Verde Lodge offers four cozy cabins nestled against lush greenery and overlooking the spectacular vistas of Tenorio and Miravalles volcanoes. These four cabins are ideal for families, couple, and for the people who love to stay close to the nature. All of the cabins are featured with private bathroom with hot water supply and complimentary toiletries. These clean, spacious and airy and are tastefully furnished cabins will ensure a comfortable stay. 

Activities:

While staying at Finca Verde Lodge, you can go for a guided tour through the multiple nature trails around the farm and you can spot monkeys, snakes, birds, sloths and many different types of plants and wild animals. You can visit the lodge’s greenhouse where many different types of herbs and vegetables are produced. You can also visit butterfly garden, and also can observe the coffee process . You can visit the nursery blooming with lovely flora, pass under the jungle canopies. A professional guide will help you to enjoy the nature tour and explore the beauty of the forest and the farm. If you are a die hard nature lover, 2 hour night tour will be best for you. At night approximately 70% of species become active and it will be easier to observe them. If you visit the jungle after sunset, you will have a great experience. You will be guided by local guide through the winding trails into the jungle and observe a variety of wild animals such as insects, mammals, frogs and many more. Night tour is totally different from the day tour. 

The Hummingbird Cafe Bar and Restaurant:

In Finca Verde Lodge there is a bar and restaurant that serves delicious homemade manus including steak and cesear salad, enchiladas and all of the dishes are prepared from the local and organic home-grown ingredients. In the kitchen there is a pizza oven and the restaurant offers a selection of different pizzas. In the bar you will find a wide range of beverages including a selection of wine, fruit smoothies and cocktails. This bar and restaurant was founded in 2013. Here you can enjoy your favorite manu daily from 12 PM to 9:30 PM.
